Tekashi_145.022
·There are many threads documenting the differences in 145.022 cases, such as the different shapes of the lugs.
However, when it comes to service cases, I was wondering: does Omega have a generic 145.022 service case they use for all Speedmasters with this case, regardless of reference? For example, would a 311.30.42.30.01.005 getting its case replaced during service receive the exact same service case as a 3570.50.00, or even a vintage cal. 861 made in the 1980s (since, AFAIK, these all use 145.022 cases)? Or does Omega have different 145.022 service cases they use to try to match the case as close to the original as possible?
My situation is I have a cal. 861 Speedmaster with case 145.022 that I dated to the early 80s. I am considering requesting a new case at its next servicing. I have a modern Speedy bracelet I love that fits my vintage case well enough, but the modern end links do not fit flush with the vintage lugs and case (the vintage bracelet’s end links fit the case great). If Omega replaced the case at its next service, I’m wondering what case I’d get back - one like my vintage case, or one like a 3570.50, for example.
Of course, I will ask the Omega service center when I send this in for service next, but hopefully that’s a few years out! 😀 Thanks in advance.
