Ordered the extract from Ariel at Omega, and they required a couple pics so I thought I'd share them.
I'm still waiting for the extract to come back with "Stolen by cat-burglar from Omega Museum Bienne circa 1982, interpol has been notified"
Must be a new thing. They made sure to mention that the serial number be clearly visible. If it were a new watch, they wanted to see the paperwork.
I guess the simple explanation is they got sick of people reading them incorrectly - its easy enough after all.
Even the movement has a golden hue! It'll be interesting to see the extract, I would buy it if it gave out more info...
Here's the extract for the Constellation reference 2943: Not much, but it is proof from Omega the watch is legit. On the rarer and more expensive models it's worthwhile to shell out the $90-ish.
Seven or eight years back now, they used to insist on dial, case, inner case back and movement pics before they would issue a certificate. This added to the credibility of the extract because on occasions they wouldn't issue an extract if the dial or something else about the watch didnt gel. That was in the days of Jean Luc Miranda, Marco Richon and John Diethelm. Perhaps they're trying to recapture some of that? Cheers Desmond
You had these arrive yet? Still tossing up whether I'll bother on my SS Pie-Pan and chronograph, but I'd like them to have some sort of pedigree in a drawer.
It would be nice to know a little more about it, but at least now I know the watch is probably kosher.
