I just wanted to post a quick thanks to everyone. Based on comments here and another site I frequent I sent my (new to me) 145.012-67SP to Al Archer at archerwatches.ca. I just received it today and it's perfect. Al's work is impeccable, and he did exactly what I requested and his prices are fair. I'll post a picture or two later in the week.

    One very satisfied customer.

Al Archer's work is indeed worth admiring.

I'm waiting on a tricompax from him as I speak!

The funny thing is among chronograph collectors, a Speedmaster 321 or similar that has service papers from Al Archer actually tends to be worth more than a regular one, and probably even more than a Speedmaster with Omega factory service papers, its sort of like a Bob Ridley serviced vintage Rolex, you know its been done right when you buy it.

Sorry, I can't answer that. :( Never dealt with any watchmaker in Germany.

Only watchmaker I've heard of in Germany is Roland Ranfft. He has an excellent website in both English and German.

I have never used him and cannot vouch for his work. Based on his description of movements and the care given to information in his site, I'm sure he knows what he is talking about. Here is his watch services pages.

    http://www.ranfft.de/uhr/info-service-e.html

His prices seem quite reasonable, especially by Euro standards.

Al, you should come to Brazil (but if you're smart, you wouldn't). Putting jokes aside, services are bad everywhere and anyone who can make a decent work and is honest would get all customers. I wish I could send my watches to be serviced by you (brazilian customs don't allow me) but congratulations on your amazing work!!

Al has been very good with refurbishing a nice little Doxa 300T piece of mine; needed servicing, parts replacement and a dial clean up. He took lots of time to test it and ensure it works well. He was able to adjust the 50+ y o ETA 2472 to a delta of approx 13 sec. And I got a CD filled with pics and a short video of his work-very impressive!! Planning to send him a few more in the near future...:)
    A shot of the Doxa:
