Aqua Terra Bracelet Alternatives

Recently acquired an Aqua Terra Bumblebee which came on the bracelet. Actually a fan of the Bumblebee since the second hand gives the dial some character. After wearing it for a couple of weeks, can definitely see how this watch will fit into any situation. Extremely comfortable but can see adjustment in the summer would need tweaking so alternatives would be nice.

That being said, was researching on strap alternatives outside of natos and had a few questions. Know there were tweaks to the case design with the newer ATs, which from my understanding makes the rubber straps fitment tough.

Also wondering if there are any other good options like sailcloth or different brands which work better. Also like the deployant clasp as it's a cleaner look.

Look forward to any assistance with this.

I've never owned a 41mm or 41.5mm AT, but I've owned every generation of the smaller AT's. I know for a fact the 19mm rubber strap for the 38mm AT fits the 38.5mm generation perfectly. I own the Skyfall 38.5mm AT and was able to put on my blue strap from the current gen AT. I'm not sure if the same applies to the larger version but I bet it does.

I wish there were more alternatives for a perfectly fitting rubber strap with a 19mm lug width. I tried on an AT with rubber strap years ago, and was blown away with how instantly comfortable it was. I can't get past the woven design of the factory band though. The weave pattern and stitching give it a kind of yaht-rock/preppy vibe that doesn't match my personal style or clothing choices very well.

I assume your watch is a 41mm case size. If that is the case (no pun intended), the 20mm AT strap will fit with curved spring bars. If that's not to your taste and you don't mind straight ends on the strap, then your options are practically unlimited.

That's what a fool believes, Kenny! That's what a fool believes!

I don't see how the OEM rubber strap is any more yacht-rock/preppy than the Aqua Terra itself. Lucky for me I love both the smooth grooves of yacht rock and my Aqua Terra.

Now I'm off to listen to some Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald...

It has a kind of woven, thatched pattern to it that looks nautical (which I'm sure was the intent). There's certainly nothing wrong with it, that just isn't my preference. The same can be said for the ATs with teak dials that I avoided for the same reason. I just wish there was more variety of selection in 19mm waterproof bands.

Decided to try out a Dassari sailcloth strap (black/yellow) with a deployant buckle. Will post some shots once it arrives.

Yes, it's the inbetween size but seems more strap makers are filling up those gaps in the market. One suggestion would be to start a search with 19mm Nato straps and go from there. Also try rubber straps and see what shows up.

Once you find different makers who deal with 19mm, maybe more options will reveal themselves.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I think the AT rubber strap is the best looking strap on the market. I like that it doesn't look like every other rubber strap out there. The contrast stitching adds visual interest as does the weave pattern.

While your fitted options for the AT are few, I would not shy away from straight edge straps. The relatively short lugs on the AT and the hole placement makes non-fitted strap options quite attractive.

All that said, I keep my Skyfall AT on the bracelet 95% of the time. I love the simple look. I think it was a mistake for Omega to go with polished center links for the subsequent generations.
