The only thing distinguishing the OEM rubber strap is the branding on the inside of the strap which no one will ever see, and the Omega stamp on the buckle of the strap.

I humbly disagree. If you're talking about generic aqua terra strap replicas, I've bought everything from the budget Strapsco rubber/silicone types up to the over $100 vulcanized rubber ones. The cheaper ones are flimsy. On the more expensive ones, the stitching starts to come apart sooner than later. Still might be worth it for some, but as far as OEM, I've yet to have an issue with one.

Just an update, I purchased my first Omega watch 2 weeks ago and I love it.

Thanks all for the sound advice here, I ended up buying on the bracelet and also ordered the Omega blue rubber strap. Now I must get more competent with strap changes myself.

I bought my AT on the steel bracelet and bought the blue rubber strap and deployant clasp later. I much prefer the watch on the rubber strap.

I can see that you mean, your AT looks great on the blue rubber strap. I'm looking forward to receiving my blue rubber strap (along with deployant clasp) in the next week or so and trying it on my AT. I'm pretty sure I'll really like it too.
