Aqua Terra (8800) Date Changes at 12:40am

Hi all,

I bought my first modern Omega ever - a 38mm Aqua Terra - having previously owned older used models. I noticed though that the date doesn't begin to change until after 12am and completes around 12:35-12:40. I doubled checked by winding the hands on manually rather than using the quick set function.

Is this normal? I'm assuming not at this price point. For reference my Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic ticks over just after midnight.

Is this worth getting checked out?

Cheers

Hello

No definitly not normal. there's no relation between the date setting and the date jump as it's not the same mechanism. it's very probably your hands that are not in the correct way. Did you buy it new?

If you have warranty, this would be covered. This is way out of tolerance.

Update: it changed at 12:47. I'll take it in.
It’s +/- 10 minutes I believe. So I would definitely take it in. I think it’s a hands remove/reset to get in in spec—but I could be mistaken.
