Hi.

I was set for the BB58 originally and have now had it in backorder for 3 months or so. When Tudor just recently released the new Pelagos 39mm the beauty of BB58 faded a bit and I wanted to change my order until I got a message from AD it would possibly take 1-2y before I could get it.

This whole process also made me look at the Omega AT as I am expecting this watch to be more readily available then the 1-2y wait for Pelagos 39mm.

The Tudor 39mm feels like a watch that in a way suits me because I'm always casually dressed (never using a suit or fancy clothes), normally jeans and sweater. Will the AT be too stiff or dressy for casual clothes and as everyday watch? I'm leaning most towards terra cotta or saffron colour. Since it's my first watch I don't know if I would be happy without micro adjustments on the watch (Pelagos 39mm have that).

Any other thoughts or inputs would also be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and for reading this far.

If I were in your shoes, I would either chase the watches I desired or get a Speedmaster of my choice if it would be my first Omega.

I got my first watch almost a year ago and took ages deciding which to go for, as so many with different characteristics that I like. Took me about 6 months to realise that I had bought the right one, as heart can rule head sometimes, with other watches not fitting my criteria but being attractive. My point here is that picking a watch is partly a natural feeling when you look at a watch, but don’t forget about the criteria you need it to hit. I suspect that, at this point in time, I may have been disappointed if I had made my choice solely on my initial gut feeling.

Anyway, my choice was the Seamaster Diver 300M in Black on Bracelet. The sliding micro adjustment has been amazing and is well worth having in my opinion. Throughout the day I can use up to 3 of the adjustment positions.

As for the AT, I thought it was too dressy at the time but, since then, it has really grown on me and don’t see it as too flashy now that I have got used to wearing a luxury watch.

My advice is to enjoy the process and get yourself a solid list of criteria, but don’t limit yourself by thinking any Watch is too dressy as you will soon feel comfortable with it. Go and try on as many as you can too.

I have a BB58 and it and the Royal are a perfect fit.
The bezel and crown on the BB58 are buttery smooth and the best in my collection.
I bought my missus an AT a few months ago and think it's an absolute stunner. So much so that I decided i wanted a 38mm version of hers.
I was unsuccessful in finding a quartz AT and have ended up getting a 38mm Breitling Colt A17035 which is nothing like the AT😗
To me the AT is a far better watch than the Air King I own.
Tough but pleasant choice to have

I don't think the AT is overly 'stiff' or dressy. It's a great all-around watch! Perfect for casual attire or dressing up a bit.
