Great watch and great review! This watch will be my next Omega. There is something stunning and classy about the blue on white. Perfect!
Hey, I have the same in black. To me, the most beautiful recent Omega watch. Though I don't Like coaxial, works just fine.
I will have a look on my old Omega catalogue. I thnik this is a gold plated bezel. Do you a the seriial number of this watch?
Thanks for your help kwijibo. Deep inside I wish it's a solid gold Unfortunately, I don't have anything (no box no papers etc) he told me he bought it from omega store in 2004.
My opinion: since it was your dad's watch, just enjoy it! Since you can't even tell, does it matter? It's not really a valuable watch monetarily and I doubt you're going to sell it. Just strap it on and enjoy!
My concern with plated gold is that it might fade as I use it. Which is why am not using it heavily. Can omega watches re-plated if gold fade?
So. I checked in my 2005 catalogue. I should be solid gold. Why : -the full solid stainless steel on SS bracelet was 2310 euros -yours was 3910 euros (reference 2303.30.00 - the full solid gold case on croc was 5980 euros. it makes sens to me taht the bezel is 18k gold, the crown probably too. As for the middle links of the bracelet I don't bloody know!
Thanks so much for taking the time to look into it. I really appreciate it. Your a champion. Feels good to know its solid gold
Just my 2nd post and also the reason I joined this forum, This very same review that I've found earlier brought me here... Now I can't stop but looking for my next grail watch... I think I'll have to sell my GMT 2234 first before I can afford this watch if there's one available.
Very true, I have 6.5 inches wrist but pretty flat. Can easily pull the 42mm PO and can even handle the 45mm. Will 39mm be ok with Me or should I go for the 42mm?
Personally I think the proportions on the 39 are better suited for the watch. It doesn't have a bezel really so the whole face fills up the 39 almost. My wrist is around 6 I think. Really it's all preference though. Wish they still sold them so you could try one on. The newer ones are a lot fatter and different.
I find the mesh a little too massive for this fine design. I have to get one with white dial and blue hands some day. I saw one for auction. Soon.
Haven't own a display back watch... Any chance you own the likes of Seamaster 300 2254 or similar and maybe post a pictures for side by side so I can figure out the size better and do You know by chance what's the thickness of this watch? Here's my other watch currently being service...
