    Well.

I find that the cases and movements (even the work done on the saphire crystals) are nice, but like you said, the dials are boring and don't look "high-end" at all, which is in my opinion a rather big problem.

At that pricepoint, I guess people will stay with Lange/Patek and they are right in doing so.

Here a link to a hodinkee video that shows them better than just one picutre:

I'm sure these are well made watches, but dare I say they have more than a whiff of Michael Kors about them in the looks department.

The design language of these is, frankly, boring. However, that may suit the target audience? I love the original Royal Oak, Genta got that right.

I’ve just lost 20 minutes of my life for their Instagram live stream ::facepalm2::

Agree on the design related comments. Those dials look like a mix of Montblanc and Daniel Wellington ::facepalm1::

My feeling is, this product family won’t work as well as expected and the marketing will get back to the Royal Oak very quickly...

There's just nothing attractive about those dials. The rest is nice, though.

Who in their right mind signed off those watches?!?

    I like the straps though.

To elaborate my earlier comment: in 1972, whether or not you had a positive reaction to the Royal Oak, the one thing i doubt anyone thought of the design was ‘boring’.

The attention to detail on the case is amazing. The unique crystal is a talking point and the movements look very well decorated. BUT...date window at 4? I agree with everyone, the dials are a let down. Bring on the next batch of CODE1159s!

They’ve lost the plot. With these dials AP turns its back on its visual DNA. They used to be elegant: slender hands, long narrow indices, uncluttered dials. Then the RO came along with a more sporty appearance but Genta kept the refinement and elegance of what came before him.
