Anyone on here in the Washington, DC area? I’ve heard there is special event in the works to celebrate space flight and the inaugural flight of the space shuttle. If you’re interested - raise your hand.

If it's at Air & Space in DC than maybe. If it's at Dulles probably not.

I would consider flying out but April is tough for me. Please keep us updated though. Intriguing. Thanks.

Not trying to be coy. Just don’t know the particulars at this point. I’ve been asked to recommend some folks to invite. I thought this forum would be a good place to start. Stay tuned.

Zman, if you’re going to keep coming down to visit us here in the Mid-Atlantic, you better sign up for Amtrak Rewards! You’re racking up some railroad miles!

I know. Not sure why there such a concentration of Omega collectors in that region. Must be something in the water.

Actually, this might be the ONLY time that I could get excited about going to Dulles.

It will be in DC. An Omega function.

Is this the sort of event that would welcome a watch and space nerd of modest means, or is this a more exclusive affair?

It's DC -- 'exclusive' isn't really a thing unless except for events meant for peeps with political connections. And those types are pretty easy to ignore.

I'm sure an event tied to the space program will collect a nice crowd of people that have their heads screwed on properly, and are a pleasure to interact with.

The real question should be: will I be judged if I try to pull off a Buzz Aldrin?

I emailed and got confirmation that I'm added to the list. Waiting on more details.

I'm interested. I have leave during that time and think about visiting a friend in DC. But I don't want to take anyone's spot that's a more regular to the DC area.
