    For my education (and perhaps others), would you please explain potential problems with this watch?

    Well, there must be a reason for such a resounding negative response! I’m on the fence. From the pictures supplied, it seems okay. But then it’s not my money. This vendor’s name has appeared on the MB before. You might want to find the magnifying glass, top right, and type in Omega_Addict to locate some of the threads in which he is the subject, and draw your own conclusions. If you really want it, check out the return privileges. If you buy it, you might be smart to have it serviced. The information provided on the listing indicates a date of 1950 to 1959 as a manufacturing date. I suspect the movement might be a caliber 565. According to the listing on the Ranfft archive shown here, I suspect 1965 to 1969 would be a more likely estimate of age.

    Firstly, I declare that I am not related to the vendor, nor did I have any eBay transactions with him.
    For this item, from the seller's descriptions on eBay, it is quite comprehensive. The movement pic (24 jewel, 5 positions) and description say it is cal.561. (Not 565 which is wrong) Correct for Constellation ref.14393.
    That said, the crown is not correct. Edges of the bazel and lugs are almost gone, which suggest over-polished or worn by wear and tear.
    Thanks.

    @Doddy123
    Hope you find the above of help.
    Cheers,

    Probably a good call not to bid for this. The dial looks fine and the crown can be replaced (may not be easy to find though), but as the other forumers have pointed out, the bezel and lugs look like they have been polished to the extent that the sharpness is lost. Which to me is a big concern.

    Here's mine, also a 14393 with domed dial and cross hairs except it is in steel.

    Omega_addict polishes the case too much to the likes of the members of this forum. I think that is the main beef.

    The case is too highly polished. My 68 redialed Connie came from a similar seller. It is a good everyday watch but it isn't the collectible kind of watch most of the members on here like.

    Stormin' Norman has been...culling (perhaps curating is s better word choice here??) his Omega collection, a collection which is world class.

    Why not buy one of his bad boys?

    I know you probably didn't know but don't miss out!!!

    @X350 XJR

    Take a look see @ some of the watches he's recently sold and pay close attention to more than fair prices. Some might say he's giving away the farm...

    I suspected you meant @X350 XJR. Indeed they are nice watches at good prices.
