    Hi guys,
I got this 1958 beefy Seamaster cal 501 a while ago and was attracted to it as the case was in such good condition. Unfortunately im not a fan of gold dials or hands so im trying to find appropriate steel/silver replacements. I have managed to source a dial as you can see in the pics and I saw some hands I like from an Ebay seller which i believe are lance shaped that I have also added a pic of. Would they be appropriate for this dial and watch or did these Seamasters only ever come with dauphine hands? I’m asking because I have seen other beefy seamasters advertised for sale with lance hands but not sure if they were original. Thanks for any advice in advance.

First of all, you have to make sure the dial is righr, feet are right for the movement, the diameter is correct, then the length of hands, the tone and lume matching or not.
It will cost you lots of time and money.
Cheaper if you can sell it and buy something like this one.

I agree with this recommendation - sell the watch and look for something you like. These watches pop up all the time on eBay and in the FS thread here.

Edit: Regarding the hands, beefy lug Seamaster should ONLY have dauphine hands.

It hasnt been that costly so far. Dial was about £25 and watch was £200 ish. I know these watches do turn up quite regularly but not always in good condition or in gold I find. I will stick to the Dauphine then on your advice. Thanks for your help guys :)
