I would like to have the watch appraised for insurance purposes. The jewelers I have spoken to have not felt comfortable appraising the watch. I did find a jeweler who would do it, but they want the watch for 5 weeks and it involves shipping across country. I would prefer to avoid that, if possible - I assume there must be a better solution in Southern California. Southeby's estimates cannot be used for insurance purposes. Feeling a little stuck here and I'd love some help to move forward.

With all due respect and only because I know what's coming: "Pictures Please".

I would think that your insurers would need to be involved in the decision about who to choose, and a specialist insurer would be needed.

That is a difficult watch to value. Arguably worth between 15-60k depending on the market

Last public sale was a bit over $70,000 usd, there is one for sale for $65,000. If it’s in good condition and all original should be $30k-60k

For "official" verification, the watch probably needs to go to Omega home base in Bienne.

Im in SoCal and can help. PM me if your interested.

Validation of the watch is important, then it depends if you want an insurance appraisal or a real world one. I can help validate and I’ve got local sources that will do an appraisal if I can confirm it.

Serial number is a tad bit important if we are talking a vintage one. I assume your not doing it on a modern one.

First a 2915 and now, an Ultraman. 2019 is off to a great start.

looks to be in very nice condition. right off, the bracelet is not correct for an Ultraman. Can you share the serial/movement number?

Bracelet is modern. The original is missing an endlink. I had hoped Omega would provide it, but they just put a newer bracelet on there. I don't feel comfortable giving out the serial number. I don't need help verifying authenticity, just having it appraised for insurance.

The serial number is vital to authentication and therefore needed to provide a serious and accurate estimate of its value.

Just block out the last two digits of the serial number. I‘m afraid we can’t be of much help without that info apart from saying that it looks „nice“ from that one pic.
