The eighth manned mission took off on the 31.01.71 and lasted for 9 days returning home on the 09.02.71. On board were the Astronauts, Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell. Their mission, was the third moon landing. There were two moon EVA’s, one of which witnessed Shepard swing his golf clubs on the surface! Speedmaster’s were of course essential equipment and all three astronauts wore them: This mission is proving the hardest to fully quantify. From the pictures it appears that both Shepard and Mitchell may have worn ref.145.012 (the pushers look larger than the 105.012 series). There is no clear pictures to accurately discern Roosa’s Speedmaster. Summary; Alan Shepard: 145.012 ? unverified Edgar Mitchell: 105.012-65? unverified Stuart Roosa- unknown reference All picture credits gratefully to NASA and the Smithsonian Air and Space museum.
