Nice. I can't believe it but my vote has to go to the Apollo Soyuz... ...as my favorite panda dial Speedmaster.

In hands the platinum Daytona is with more than 285g. heavy.

 

As the platona is the only Daytona I lust after, and seen a meteorite Daytona... I love the speediorite...
But the Platona owns my heart.

 

You wouldn't be wrong Best fries I have ever had, made with duck fat

 

I sold my Speediorite, as I could not get over the sapphire crystal. Had they (Omega) made it with a hesalite crystal, in my opinion it would have been the best ever LE speedmaster. The sapphire crystal provided a slight haze to the dial and I could never get over it.

 

Sapphire crystals always seem to have fingerprint haze all over them. Hesalite all the way.

 

What sort of maniac notices the fries in that photo?

The Soyuz for me. I always liked the design, wish I got one.

Only a partial speedmaster thread but then again we all know how ulackfocus

 

I love the look of the Daytona but I have never liked the brown/ice blue combination. I would vote for the Speedy

 

I was surprised at how much better the Platona looked in person vs photos. I tried one on at Ben Bridge 3 years ago. PS: the AT in the photo was mine. They don’t sell Omega.

 

I honestly have not been that impressed with the platinum Daytona when I've tried it on. I like the aesthetics of the Daytona in general but the brown/blue did nothing for me.

If we're talking platinum watches, the Omega Speedy got my motor revving when I had the opportunity to try it on. It is amazing in the metal!

Truly apples and oranges. But it's clear to me owning both that the the 116506/Platona wins by a wide margin here. And that's coming from a Speedy lover.
