Hi all,
My Speedmaster Apollo Soyuz meterorite 35th anniversary is losing time quite badly, to the tune of approx 2 minutes per week.

I bought it second hand a year ago so not sure of service history etc.

What would you advise and how much is it likely to cost me?

Did you get it checked to see if it is magnetized first? Is this change in accuracy sudden or not?

From a very small experience that I have maybe it just needs to demagnetize it and should be fine but wait for an answer from an experienced
member.

Thanks both. Never heard of magnetising a watch, I’ll google it but if anyone could give me any pointers or good links I’d be grateful.

I usually wear my seamaster and only recently started wearing the speedmaster more often so I’m unsure whether this is a recent thing or has done it since before I bought it.

Thanks.

Most likely just needs a good cleaning and lubrication, it's possibly never been done. In my experience a magnetized watch tends to run faster, I don't think that is your problem.

Thanks evitzee will my local boutique do this for me? Does it need a full service or just a clean and lubrication?

I’m going to take it in tomorrow but would be good to get an idea from the forum of what it needs and how much it might cost. I’m in UK if that makes a difference.

Two minutes per week doesn’t indicate magnetism to me. Worth a try, but don’t get your hopes up.
