ive always liked the speedy 57 type bracelet over the standard moonwatch bracelet (not a huge fan of the chrome inserts) and when the apollo 11 50th anniversary was announced i was excited to see that it had that type of bracelet that would fit (unless im mistaken) the standard moonwatch. Any word if these are available or if theres a part number?
@Robert-Jan announced that Omega does not intend to make the new 50th bracelets available as standalone parts. If that's what you're asking.
This was discussed in another thread somewhere on here. People in there claimed OBs had told them it will be available eventually, and I think @Archer or someone with access even found it in the Omega system. I could be mis-remembering that part, though. Seems there is conflicting info floating around, then.
I can understand why Omega want to reserve this for the limited edition watch only but it is a shame. It looks beautiful.
Would be great if they make it available. So curious to see how it compares to the vintage 1039/516 combination in person. Seems like they made some improvements on their way from the 60th anniversary bracelet. I like the fact that it is slimmer and tapers.
I reckon it is going to be super comfortable. Anyone tried it on yet at these numerous events that are popped up all over the place?
There are a whole load of bracelet images here:- https://omegaforums.net/threads/bre...ary-apollo-11-in-steel-revealed.95246/page-18 Including some clearly showing the part number. Although I have worn it, I can’t attest to it comfort as a) it wasn’t sized for me, b) there does not appear to be any micro-adjust capability in the clasp and c) the whole bracelet was actually installed the wrong way round on the “0/6969” demo model.
I know this is not the same but you can mount the 60th trilogy bracelet on the modern speedy. Here is the thread that I posted recently on that: https://omegaforums.net/threads/57-trilogy-bracelet-on-broad-arrow-or-modern-speedy.94216/ The nice thing is that you will get the adjustable clasp with it, and it cost you north of $700. Here is what it looks like on my broad arrow.
That could be an option too! Although currently, I have a generic stainless bracelet with those '57 type links (although all brushed and not polished) that Im trying to modify to fit on a stock speedmaster clasp. I'll use this el cheapo option for now what makes it different? i know you said "its been said" so i dont expect you to know but just curious if you or others actually know. Maybe the watch is too new for answers right now.
Someone mentioned a ledge of some kind on the bracelet that isnt on the standard speedy i.e it wont fit
That's too bad. I think it is a nicer looking bracelet since it is a bit thinner. If these bracelets have the same width in center links, then we can again these end links again. So it might be possible still
No one (other than Omega) knows for sure if it will fit. But Omega has indicated various times that this bracelet will not be available for individual sale. So if it does fit there will be a pretty small contingent of people who will be able to put it on another Speedmaster. Until some of these watches are delivered and a swap tried it is all conjecture at this point. Patience is a virtue.
I just visited an OB on another matter and while there asked about this. The manager said that while they could not order the bracelet separately at present, she did think once the actual watches had been fulfilled in volume that it was likely they would be able to. She also thought that it would fit the older watches. Not conclusive but another datapoint. I think with a little patience these will be forthcoming at some point, though you may have to be a recognised customer or produce an Ap50 BB to get one. Rocking up and asking for 5, one for you and 4 for eBay may not get the desired result.
