    Hi Guys,
With the rainy season is coming ( here in this region)..I am looking to buy a more modern watch so i can ware it without as much worry as my vintage ones (well..that is my excuse to buy :whistling:).
I want something a bit different but still have a little vintage feel...so i have narrowed down to AP 15300 (blue dial if i can find one ) and Reverso Bleu.
I am interesting to hear your choice and thought on the 2 watches...maybe they can help made up my mind.
(I have tried and like them both) :D

    Cheers

The AP has never really done anything for me personally. I know it's a huge icon in horology.. But I just feel "eh" towards. it. The Reverso on the other hand.. Damn. The blue side of the Reverso is absolutely awesome. It's a very subtle blue coloring which I'm a big fan of.

I don't dislike the sub-40mm RO's with the blue dial.

    Reversos, however....... ::love::

They are very different watches I believe. The Royal Oak is a sports watch, rugged in appearance. The more business like Reverso is normally, unless you shove too many complications into it, a slender watch that slides under a shirt cuff. The Reverso is fun to have at boring business meetings as you can play with the reversing mechanism to keep from dozing off.

Two beautiful, iconic watches but they couldn't be more different. Tough call, but I think your lifestyle could be the tiebreaker. When I used to be a full-time musician and I was traveling constantly, the dressier Reverso duo with the dual timezone complication would have been a more useful watch. These days the royal oak makes much more sense.

I like the jumbo better because of its slimmer profile and dial layout - more subtle blue color and a smaller petite tappiserie pattern.

Regarding the Reverso, I'd take a look at this one as well: http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-jaeger-lecoultre-tribute-reverso-duo.

The 15300 is a great size, and blue dial is even better in person. I am a big fan of JLC, but the Reverso line... meh.

I own a blue RO (14790) and a Reverso Duo (regular, not the blue) so I can identify slightly with your dilemma.

Between the 15300 and the Reverso Bleu, I'd plump for the Reverso. Slightly more versatile, and I'm biased towards strap watches. Plus the 'paddle' second hand of the 15300 can be polarizing.

Between a 15202 and a Reverso blue though, I'd favour the 15202 by a whisker!

I tried that reverso on, and immediately tried to find a buyer for my first born.

    Hi guys
Thank you for your thoughs, some very useful information and suggestions...i think i am now leaning a little toward the Reverso since for me it is more versatile and i think i like it a little more on my wrist, a modern watch with a vintage feel. I will try them on one more time and decide :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Cheers

Reverso. I own a Grand Reverso Duo in Steel which is big but I love the deco look and dual time utility. I have sports watches. I have tried tried tried to understand the appeal of the RO, I just don't get it.

    Hi guys
After tried on different Reverso(s), i ended up with the black&white Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface.
I think the white dial with a square sub-second window is beautiful and just beat the blue dial without the sub-sec. I know the bleu will probably hold better value in the future but i think i should buy the one that i think look better on the wrist

They do make them look the same quartz vs manual winding! Should at least put a "quartz" on the dial ;)
