Sorry for the newbie question. Is there anywhere to verify authentic Omega via serial number without having to open back? I have a 2254.50 and don't see it listed on the official Omega database. There used to be a cool old school database but can't find. Thanks in advance!

But then a counterfeiter could just take a number from the database and etch it on the back of their watch. Best to open it up, or at least post a lot of clear photos of the dial and caseback here so the experts can chime in.

If you're next to a service center they'll authenticate while you wait.

The serial number you sent corresponds to a 22545000, so I think you are good.

I have the old seamaster professional 300m, I don't have the papers now, I can only found the serial numbers engraved ever so tiny on the bottom right corner of the case (behind the 7 o clock position), it is 80682478. It was very small, I need magnifying glass to see it. I forgot what year this watch was bought and produced because if i am not mistaken it was from early 2000 (around 2004) but when I search for info in the other forums, 80000000 serial numbers correspond to production date about 2006 -2007

If anybody have the knowledge about this serial number, and share this, would be greatly appreciated

    Best regards

What's the reference number? Maybe a photo, so we're not trying to read your mind.

It's a 25318000. There's not any way to date these really, other than the publicly available lists on the internet, which are not always accurate.
