    Hello,

I was thinking of getting an Omega from 1985 (which is my birthdate). Is there anything nice or cool looking from that era? Is there anything worth collecting?

    Thanks!

Thank you. I can not decide if I like this Knight rider look :) But this makes it unique.

    Maybe something under 1000$?

Classic moon watch on a 1450 bracelet fits that year, but not for $1000.

I believe the correct bracelet is the very uncommon 1447 bracelet while the 1450 bracelets came out shortly afterwards. Just my thoughts.

    George, I think you're right.

AJTT shows the 1450 as being introduced in 1986 & doesn't mention 1447 at all. Isnardi just lists 1447,1450 & 1479 all together across 1980-1995.

Unfortunately, this probably means that the OP will only get a period correct bracelet without any watch for his $1000 :(

I remember seeing the 866 moonphase come on the 1447 originally and then switching over to the 1450 when production started in 1986 till it's stopped production date I believe in 1987. I've seen the 1447 on a couple of regular Speedy Pros but these are usually held in collection or were placed aside or even disposed of since replacement parts are very rare to source. I've had 2 - 1447 before and they are just like the 1450 but the links are a tiny bit more curved while being the first iteration to employ the quick release bar and the 1450 being the last one (it was nice and easy way to release the bracelet but a weak point of failure if the bracelet is worn too tight).
