    Hey guys,

Ive been debating on selling or keeping my 1553, however i am looking for its brother as i love the blue dial and case on these watches. What are your thoughts on this 1553 vs 1153?

Looking to see if i can find one at a similar value to the one i currently have which i would part with for

    Thanks guys

I prefer the dial on the 1153. Personal taste, of course. Google for the prices/ CARRERA BLUE DIAL CROWN SIDE EX.JPG

as do i, something about the symmetry makes it more appealing.. then again the 1553 has the cool subseconds and a unique 70's design not usually seen.

not many on the market for what i can find

The 1553 is pretty cool once you wear it, I find it's nicely balanced on an original GF band but that's my opinion.

That 1553 that sold on eBay last week went for $2400 and change, expect to pay around twice that for a good example of an 1153 - if you can find one. There are a couple on eBay now with overpolished cases, lume-less dials, or both. Shame, really

Although I prefer the Cal. 12 over the Cal. 15, the Carrera 1553 is something special. I sold my (very special) 1153 with Cal. 11 but still have my 1553S because there simply is nothing like it. The dial has what graphic designers call visual inertia. I sometimes pine for the 1153, but I will probably never let go of my 1553.
