More precisely, the bezel reads "To the defender of fatherland" and the dial "Spetsnazovskie" i.e. (the watch) of Spetsnaz.

At the very bottom of the dial is "made in Russia".

    Not issued.

Looks like another cheap Russian watch. Is it even a Vostok?

If you are looking for something with issued pedigree, Raketa Amphibia is well-regarded there, according to one of my acquaintances.

Would love to add a Sturmanskie or Strela to my collection one day, these are the counterparts to the Omega and Bulova space-watches. Alas, genuine Sturmanskies are very hot with radium and the market is awash with fake Strela dials.

Right now I have a Slava rattrapante / split second stopwatch to scratch that red space itch :) relatively affordable on eBay

On the topic of Russian watches. I have had this one 25 years. I know it celebrates the 70th anniversary of the October revolution, but not much else. What's it say @Eve @Motik? Thanks!

The first one says "70 (years of) the great October Socialist Revolution". The second one says "All power to the soviets" (ie the local committees). It must be quite early as it predates the spelling reforms that followed the revolution.
Edited to add: inscription is in early style but the watch obviously later!

Ran across a Russian wristwatch at auction years ago that had an interesting history.
It was engraved as presented to a woman who was a key member in the British Communist Party. IIRC it was a pre-WW2 product.
Kind of wish I'd bid on it at the time, but only later became interested in Russian watches.
Here's my favorite. An old Pobeda in excellent NOS condition when I got it, accurate to an average of two seconds per seven day week in a recent 28 day test.

Thanks! You are right, it is not that old. My dad bought it for me as a gift in the early 90s. The "Made in Russia" on the movement suggests that it was made after the fall of the USSR.

Here is another contribution to the unofficial Russian watch thread. A new Vostok Amphibia. I really like it, and for $60 the price was right.

Damn I really like that. I have two Vostoks and a raketa. The Vostoks are from the USSR days. If you don’t mind me asking where did you pick that up. Is it automatic or mechanical. Is that around 40mm. Sorry for the interrogation but I was just about to pick up another USSR days one for 50 bucks but that one you have is clean and sharp. Also, that’s a screw down crown? It’s quite unique to the ones I have.

I bought mine from a Russian seller on Ebay, there are several. Just look for one with good ratings. The Amphibia is a classic watch with a cool history. There are lots of case styles and countless dials. See this:

I forgot to say, it is rated for 200m and can likely do more. Has a screw down crown and several unique Soviet innovations (see other article). The new Amphibia are self winding mechanical, but you can hand wind as well. Older ones are manual wind only.

Here the official Vostok store, but prices are lower on eBay.

The forum doesn't like links with question marks. The eBay seller I used was:
    clockfasestore

    Looks like I paid $67 not $60.
