Anyone snag this linen dial Constellation?

I had this in my watch list this week but unfortunately my bid wasn’t enough to take it home.
Nevertheless, I though this was a beautiful watch, even with the clumsy engraving on the rear and once cleaned and serviced it should be a stunner.

I’m no Constellation expert but I assume it’s a 2652? Did anyone here win it?

The case definitely looks like a 2652 but the dial dont belong to the case, this is a later style of dial.
ChronometER is also a later writing of the correct chronometRE on 2652’s

I did notice that and it’s one of the things that stopped me going nuclear with my bid. The main reason being that I’m not experienced enough with the minutiae of Connie’s to know some of these details.

I was thinking it might be a 2887. The thick bevel on the edge of the caseback and the dial text are in line with that, IMO.

It looks like a 2887 case with wrong dial. Dial may not have feet and repainted, I guess.

interesting. I hadn’t considered that (again, I’m not up on the finer details of the various Connie references).
Am I right in saying the 2887 can be found with both RE and ER spellings?

It’s indeed a 2887. What did it go for, in case you know?
A very small number of 50s Connies have appeared with those later linen dials. Our own @MSNWatch owns one if I’m not mistaken, not sure if it’s a 2887 though.

I bid up to 890. I thought MTV is right. It looks like 2887 or 14396(but does not looks like 37mm).

I was aware of it but lacked the knowledge 😢. It appears that Omega started to experiment with dial features on that ref. that are more commonly seen in the 60s.
