Anyone know what these odd, blunt-tipped Speedy-looking hands are actually for?

Edit: maybe a Mark III? Will they fit an 861 cal?

Speedmaster Mark series at a guess

Thanks. We simultaneously crossed posts. They were sold to me as fitting an 861. Any idea if that would work? I think the original cal. Is a 1040. Thanks.

I’m totally puzzled: the blunt-tipped hands do appear to go only on the cal. 1040 Mark series. But look at the holes for these confirmed 1040 hands below, which are clearly different from the hole sizes above.

As far as I know, there's similar hands for both 861 (i.e. Mark II) as wells as the later Marks on cal.104* . So it boils down to the hole size I'd imagine.

Thanks, that helps quite a bit.

I think there are also some seamasters that use similar hands, like the Grand Admiraltry, and i think some Dynamics...

Biggest clue seems to be that they’re white all the way.

I think there are a number of watches from that period with that style handset, but usually with black bases
