It looks pretty alright to me, just that the patina on the case I think is reaction to sweat :p

Another symptom of the watch world gone mad - people are starting to write about the sublime desirability of 'gold patina' as seen on that piece. I'm behind the times, though. I still call it 'tarnish.'

From the 'dink's breathless gush...er, write-up: "The watch also displays some of the greatest patina you will find, further convincing us to go for gold."

The watch is very fairly priced though (IMHO). Full disclosure, I have sold watches through hodinkee, and am still selling a couple more. I think it is impossible to Know it all and I am not a fan of pampering and propping products with words that are as Lous mentioned. However, having met Louis and Cara in person, I think they are doing this because they genuinely like what they are doing ;)

Highly unlikely, the time it took to be snatched up from the very second it got listed was shorter than one can input a PayPal password.....

I'll take the opposite viewpoint. I think it might be the last brilliant watch produced by UG. Same case as the Zenith G381, btw.

Yeah, it needs to have one of these included with it:

Anyone whom is paying extra for that "patina" is mental.

No sir. I would have waffled over that price and lost it, had I known about it.

Well you must have discovered it late...It was available for at least 15 minutes while I was looking early this morning.

There was a glitch in the system, I.e. It doesn't say sold but you can't buy it. I have my things set such that I see the listing when it is listed.... So a poor sod like myself was clicking make the payment unsuccessfully for quite sometime

Had I not made a vow of poverty and thrift and did not have a Pepsi GMT on its way from Italy ..... My finger was nearing the "add to cart" button.

For me, the Zenith is so much nicer.

So far, vintage UGs have not sucked me into their gravity well.

Have only bought one, a simple three-hand Polerouter, and my ownership was short-lived.
