Anyone here purchased a Forstner contemporary flat-link in the last couple of months?

Someone on Reddit reckons that Forstner have updated it so that it now no longer has the micro adjustment holes on the clasp and instead uses a tool free sliding system like you'd find on a Rolex glidelock or such.

Can anyone confirm if this is actually correct information if they've bought one recently?

Interesting they aren’t advertising this if it is true. Because this is something I’ve been waiting for from them and Unclestraps, once they started selling their milled clasps.

I checked, but I didn't see anything on their website. This would definitely force me to buy even more bracelets from them.

I can confirm. I’ve bought two in the past couple months (fully brushed and polished/brushed) - both had the new quick adjust clasp. Someone just posted a nice video review on YouTube of the 1450 bracelet and it had the new clasp as well. Works great. I highly recommend Forstner bracelets now. They are also going to be selling the clasps alone so you can swap out older bracelets.

Here are a couple recent pics - new Seamaster 300 No Date and Snoopy - both with new clasp.

@gdhoosier what is the taper of the 20 mm bracelet you have on your seamaster?

It tapers from 20mm to 16mm. The clasp itself is a bit wider than 16mm, I believe, but the links taper down to 16mm.

Thank you. So this is effectively a contemporary flat link very similar to the A11 50th? Does it also fit the speedmaster, or did it have specific end links for the seamaster?

I can't speak for the A11 50th, but I have the Ed White 321 that has the Omega flat link bracelet (very similar to the new FOIS bracelet), and it is effectively the same, other than the clasp itself (the link connections are a bit different but very secure). The weight, polish, link size, etc. are extremely similar and very, very comfortable. The Ed White bracelet is my favorite of all, and this is practically identical. You have to specify the end links with Forstner for Seamaster versus Speedmaster, which is easy to do on their website. The end links come separately packaged and are connected to the bracelet and the timepiece via the spring bars. Hence, you can swap out the end links between Seamaster or Speedmaster easily (if you buy just the end links from Forstner). Hopefully that makes sense.

It does. If I end up picking up a Seamaster like the one you have pictured, it makes me think it very likely that I could order the Seamaster end links and put them on my Apollo 11 bracelet. That would be interesting.

Can anyone else confirm that Forstner now ships their bracelets with the new quick adjust clasp?

Form my AT 41mm small seconds- I’ve been wearing it with on a NATO strap, but I’m on the fence of either picking up the new ‘comfort fit’ OEM bracelet (I think the newer AT models finally have adjustable clasp) or the one from Forstner. If the quick adjust clasp is 100% confirmed- Forstner it is.

Their website still shows the older pin adjustment clasp.

Cheers y’all!

Just contact Forstner directly about whatever you are wanting to buy - they respond pretty quickly.

I messaged them last week about the new clasp availability. It will be sold separately eventually but they estimated 2-5 months before it’ll be a stand alone part for order.
