I have asked a few members and am now going to open this one up to everyone. I have come into possession of a very early Constellation watch box and am trying to get more information on it. Vintage pictures or ads would be great if anyone as seen them. It has been confirmed to me by one Omega dealer that this box is in fact mid 50's early Constellation and very rare and he only delivered less then a handful. Have contacted the Omega museum but no response as of yet. Will update when I do get information from them. Wayne
I guess Desmond mondodec is going to be "your man" on this? As far as I have seen around there is even earlier versions of boxes out there, but mid 1950s may be right. However I am no expert on these.
It seems there are many variations of Constellation boxes of 50's. Even each country (Swiss, UK,US, South America, French, Portugal etc) has different distinctive models. Top of the line Deluxe and Grand Luxe highest option used silver box rather than red box.
Quite alright, I do that all the time. LOL! Thanks. Trying to find out more about the box before I post it all for sale. Wayne
Watch is US market for sure (see "OXG" on movement and "Swiss" on dial). I suspect box is as well. That's why it doesn't look like the classic red Constellation box we see so often. gatorcpa
$775 for the box? Really? You are missing the insert, you know. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Extremely-R...tch-Box-/181354157466?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network It's rare, but not that rare. gatorcpa
Insert is missing yes, but as I list all my stuff on eBay on the high side. I NEVER auction anything. You can always go down, never UP!! I have it at best offer...... Make me a reasonable offer and you might be surprised. Wayne
IMO the box and papers add $200 to $300 to the value..... I seem to think come to mind so I would put your offer at $50-$100 maybe. Wayne
That was the quote I was give by GatorCPA, not MY valuation of the addition of the watch and papers. That came from a conversation he and I had, let me clarify.
