Anyone have a JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon?

I’m thinking about picking one up. I’ve looked at several models of moon phase watches over several brands and this is the one that stands out to me. As much of an Omega fan as I am, the Speedmaster Moon Phase just doesn’t do it for me. Looking for more of a dress watch. Opinions?

I don't have either, but I'm with you on the JLC. The Speedmaster Moon is just too busy. As for the Master Ultra Thin, the only competitor in my mind is the newest iteration of the Master Control Calendar, which has a tres cool date pointer which jumps over the words at the 6 o'clock position:

A friend of mine has the black dial version.
It’s absolutely stunning. And so is the silver one.
The proportions are perfect for almost all wrist sizes.

I think it’s the best moonphase watch under 10k and maybe the best dress watch in general under 10k.

It's a great watch, the only downside to me is the relatively small date ring, you really have to look closely to read the date. Just a nit pick, not a deal breaker.

Fully agreed. The date legibility is one of the reasons why I ended up buying this Moonphase:

I've had one since the first release. They are fantastic.

For a while I had a Speedmaster Moonphase too, but it's a different animal altogether. The JLC is an amazing dress watch. It's the only one my wife has forbidden me from ever selling :)

I don’t think that you can find a better value in a dress watch frankly. The finishing is great and the design is elegantly understated. I own a Master Calendar Moon in RG and a Duo Face Reverso.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like I’m looking at the right watch.

Stunning watch and I find myself sometimes regretting not buying the moon phase instead my RDM. The blue of the sundial adds so much "interest" to the dial. However the asymmetry of the RDM spoke to me as did the complication itself.

The Patek 5146 is also a beautiful watch. It is my "grail" watch. But I like that Patek and this JLC as well. Both very nice choices for a moonphase.

Slightly away from the topic, but these Patek 5146 models are relatively good value for money (for a Patek). It might be an obtainable grail (over time)?

The MUT moon white dial is my Grail dress watch, the OP's first post. Beautiful piece without being too busy.

Big fan of JLC and the Master Control line is beautiful and, it’s funny to say, a bargain.

Running at +.2 SPD after the first week. Not too shabby and a beautiful watch to boot.

Have two MUTs and i am a fan. But neither is a moon. That said, the MUT you are considering is one fine piece. Truly, the MUT line is the best “affordable luxury” (oxymoronic as it may sound) dress watch line there is.

    here’s my MUT pair
