My son and I are spending Father's Day weekend up at the U.S. Open at Erin Hills with a college buddy. It should be an awesome time with my son. Hopefully, there will be some great watch sightings! If you're attending PM me and maybe we can meet up. Will post plenty of pictures.

I gave up on Golf when I had all my bats stolen from the boot of my car. I wasn't very good anyway.

My first thought is that the US open isn't until late August...

But then I realized you were talking about the one that I have zero interest in. So no, I won't be going. :)

Hope you have a good time with your son though.

    Cheers, Al

I played Erin Hills this exact weekend last year. It's an incredible place and incredible course. Can't wait to "watch". :)

A good friend played it last year too. I can't wait to see it in person.

If I wasn't already committed this weekend (bachelor party in Denver) I would have tried to make the trip. Should be a good time, although from the few press conference blurbs I've seen the players are already complaining (I think they just like to hate on the USGA).

I've been thinking about making a weekend golf trip out there but haven't had the opportunity yet. Then again I'm such a bad golfer I should probably just stick to my regular muni courses. Plus it's a lot easier to sneak beers in since rangers are virtually non-existent ;).

Not going, but am thinking of doing an Erin/Whistling Straits trip with my son at the end of the summer. Will definitely be watching.

From what I read today (maybe in The NY Times?) hole 9 is stunning. 135yrd par 3, surrounded by 7 traps, with a crosswind.

Me and three of my buddies went to WI and played Erin hills and both straits courses, whistling and Irish. Wisconsin is now the Mecca of golf. You can't get a better golf destination in the summer than that three course line up. I caught the Kenny Chesney concert that night at Brewers stadium and flew back to Cali a day later. Just straight awesome trip.

It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It just screams America's heartland from the top of it's lungs. It's either fairway or hayfield. All the tees are elevated and you feel like you can see the entire course from every tee box and you look out to a lush green cross-cut fairway surrounded by chest high brown grass as far as the eye can see. Soooo beautiful.

If you are on Instagram, check out @usatm2 -- he does a lot of the photography for USAToday.

In some spots it is just wispy, but in between some of the fairways dividing the holes, it looks pretty gnarly.

Safer than the water - hopefully no E.coli in the beer!

I was told the water issue had been fixed, but I still only drank bottled water and plenty of beer. Getting ready to do it all over again today!:)

Not equating the two things at all, but "they" said the water in Flint was fine too...I don't always trust what "they" say, so I would be with you - beer or bottled water only. Depending on the beer down there it's almost the same thing...;)
