Given the ceramic case, I am assuming it is nearly impossible to scratch the lugs when changing strap, correct??

Correct. The only metal in that area of the case is the spring bar itself.

Luke shots of the seamaster hands make me like them better, I was disappointed the sword hands didn’t return, maybe not such a big deal! Great looking piece.

Picked this bad boy up. Never wanted to spend big dollars on a watch with a rubber strap and wish it was a thicker strap with a deployant but the watch really works!

Loooove it. I would have bought by now if the new Chrono wasn't coming out...now it's really hard to decide between the two!

To appreciate this watch, you need to not care about the weight because it is light and the rotor is noisy so if feels a little cheap, also, the rubber strap is really weak considering the price.

Rubber straps come on 18k watches 30k watches... 50k Pateks....

Very common on high end sport watches now.

I understand that, personally, spending 8k on a watch puts me in the critical mode in terms of value based on my economy and compared to the panerai I picked up recently, the rubber, weight, presentation is on another level with the Panerai. Where the Omega pops more is the anti reflective treatment on the glass.

It’s odd claiming value with Panerai...

Don’t get me wrong I want a CA dial... but value for money is not a strong suit of the Pam’s.

I love the aqua Terra strap is it any worse than that? Zenith has pretty amazing straps now too in rubber.

yep I get it. love Omega, sometimes though the best part about them is they pop like the breitlings, the glass just disappears. I started with the 300M 42mm and it's a great watch but the bracelet is rough on the edges and because I have a rolex oyster, I am spoiled and can't appreciate the lack of refnement. The titanium and ceramic is really cool, just a tad too light for me and didn't prefer the way the crown and bezel felt for the price. It is a great looking watch though and I am glad I got to try it on around the house before I flipped it and lost majorly like I always do when I re-sale Omega!

this isn't sour grapes btw, again, huge omega fan and the watch looks awesome, just needed a little more in a few areas for the price.

Nice looking, but prefer the older waves over the new ones and their thinner cases!

its actually not even close, the crown action on the panerai is superior, the rubber strap and leather strap are much more robust, the movement is equal in terms of finishing and being in house, the casework is equal if not better. Subjectively there isn't a big gap between these brands.

You should research what Pam movements actually are. As for crown movement... my 3313 poc is the smoothest I’ve had... well my Speedy dates good... but it has the same base movement as many Pam’s. But chronometer rated and retains the automatic winding and has been upgraded to co axial.

As for straps... I can easily source better straps for under 500...
Depends on the model.... base Pam’s are dropping. A few non LE Omegas are rising, if you know which ones. And many LE’s have far surpassed any Pam’s.

Movement wise omega is superior to Panerai.
Case and finishing, in my opinion, omega is also better considering price
    Cheers

On your last point, omega has to be a bit careful on the LEs so they will not suffer the same problem that Panerai has...
