A while back I bought some dials for about $100 each. After using what I wanted, I put up on ebay a dial just like this and it achieved $75. Which happened to be $25 less than I paid. Now true that was two years ago, but really, have we reached this point of values? Here is the photo and link. Can someone offer an opinion why this went for so much? It isnt brown. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintag...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Anyone we know bought it?
because it's stepped? look at that hour subdial... poor little 6. i think someone maybe got carried away.
It's just barely conceivable that the stuff around 6 could be cleaned up. For $800 I'd want more than "conceivable" though.
Wow, it's not even in 'good' condition. So a 145.022-69 with a DON bezel is worth what, $2,000-$3,000 in parts for just the dial and bezel alone?
I am fairly sure it is a non repeating situation. I still have my dial, and when I get to it its going straight up on ebay....
Perhaps a case of people new to Speedmasters getting slightly carried away with DoN bezel fever, and unaware that these dials are reasonably plentiful? Most of the bidders were left behind at $280.
Because there are those that want to 'build' Speedmasters because they believe they can make money off them.
I don't think it would be as "cheap" then! http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/331771103852Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I know...perfect for someone with smaller wrists. Was tempted on those links, as the bracelet would pair well with 105.012 or 165.014.
This is an aside, but I noticed a dial photo for sale on the Bay with a familiar watermark. http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/231827785102Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network @Spacefruit 's site is going to becoming more popular every day!
