Anyone else seeing a gray rectangular bar on the right with a circle and X inside?

Started showing up recently and have to click on the X to close in in order to reply or post

You don't have a paid subscription, which means you will still be seeing advertisements. What you are seeing is the frame of video pop up ad. When I log out of my account and ads show up, you can see in the bottom right corner is the pop up. If you have an ad blocker running or VPN, the ad itself may just be blocked while the pop up is still functioning?

I have ad blocker, so haven't seen any ads on the site. Noticed it a few or so weeks ago. Not happening on any other sites

While it is gray. Its translucent, so not solid and I don't think an ad would prevent one from posting. I can't reply or post until I click on it to remove

Well I've been here 10 years and this only started a few weeks ago, so I don't think paying is going to remove it

Seen it for maybe 2-3 weeks. Tbh I'm relatively new to forum so I thought it had always been here.

Quick page inspect shows it's part of a google ads frame/stream, and as I run an ad-blocker I probably don't see the real content or context of what's happening.

Paused adblocker and there was an ad. Funny thing is the bar is longer the width of the ad when I start AB again

Why would this prevent me from posting though until I click on it?

iFrames can have whacky outcomes, its possible that theres an invisible frame over parts of the page that prevent buttons working until you remove the ad.

Yes your adblocker is not blocking the entire ad invocation so you are seeing some of the ad structure but it's not working correctly. I concur with the idea that OF admins have given you a way to support the site without viewing the ads, so consider ponying up for a subscription for $50/year (just $4.17/month) and then you will not have any shrapnel from incompletely blocked ads.
