This just arrived today and what a great addition to any pen collectors collection. Writes beautifully and looks stunning.

The Retro 51 Rocket Pen limited to 1958 pieces for each pen (1958 for NASA 60 Years) was released last week. I think they have now sold out but with any luck one or two might be tracked down if anyone is interested.

That looks really cool! I do like that Gemini one but having the whole set would be nice too...

 

It would have been nice to have all three. After the hours I spent calling retailers that were all sold out the one I finally found that would take a pre-order would only offer one per customer.

Thanks for posting this. I could not find the set in the US (searched a little, but all came up sold out), so I am happy to buy it in the UK and have it shipped back to the US. The cost is a little higher then if I could have found a set here, but not by enough to spend any more time looking.

My dad worked at a NASA facility in the DC area while in college. Basically one of hundreds who sat at small desks cranking out calculations all day. He gave me lots of space stuff in the late '60s/ early '70s, but almost none of it survived. He is into pens, and will really be surprised to receive this set.

Hard to tell. You have to check boutiques all around the country. I checked a dozen or so in the DC/ MD/ VA area, plus Amazon, and decided to give Mann a try.

 

They are available at asf website with autographed photo.

 

Already received an email from Mann that the shipment is on the way. They are fast!

No but this post reminded me to order cartridges for my SS pen.

 

I was helping a friend who lived near Cape Canaveral repair an old van he bought and we found the floor board had been patched with a twice folded lithograph plate.
I unfolded the plate and found it was for a set of drawings and instructions for servicing the fuel feed of a Saturn 5 rocket engine. Wish I'd kept it but I told him he should turn it in. Don't know if he did or not.
