Finally stopped in the kitchen knife store near me. The store owner is an Omega fan too.

He started his own knife company.

Nice wood sheath also.

If you don't have a Mora, you're missing out. Knife pictured is USD20 on Amazon. These things are tough and stay sharp.

https://morakniv.se/en/

And are easy to resharpen because of the scandi grind.

This is the Portland Knife House on SE Belmont. I see a Strata in Portland, Maine, the other Portland.

The owner has a short bio, but unfortunately does not indicate his name. His background is a bit like the owner of Japanese Knife Imports, in that he was a cook/ chef before deciding to open a store. If you have the chance, look up JKI online -- Jon has spent a lot of time n Japan and visits every year. He gets many of the knife he imports made to his specs. Plus he is one of the best sharpeners out there.

Been testing out this Overland fixed blade for a little over a month now. Absolutely love it. Ultem scales look awesome in person and a picture doesn't do them justice. This is also my entry into the magnacut world and I'm pretty impressed so far. Also picked up this leather slip from DP SteelAndLeather for my daily edc goodness. Again, my camera can't get colors right because it's really a faded black, more of a grey, but it comes off as brown. Super happy to not have three pocket clips hanging outa my pocket anymore.

Also curious to hear if anyone is jumping on the Rex76 train when the latest mule drops?

I just learned of the now-discontinued Ontario "Chimera". Managed to snag one, in theory. We'll see when it arrives.

I’m in for Rex T15 and M398

Rex 76 is going to be a whole new ball game for sharpening as that high hardness is going to mean a lot of money for sharpening stones upgrades…68-70 hardness is also at the chippy stage of hardness. (Almost Maxamet hardness)

Having a piece of Magnacut for making some of my own knives. I have slowed up on the Mule purchasing lately. Still have about 7 left to throw handles on 😁

You remind me of when I worked at the university, the machine shop guys helped me test my Camillus Silver Sword knife. 😁

So, just passing by this thread as I don't really collect knives... That said, I do like to have good knives to do my cooking 😀

Recently, I have bought a custom made chopping knife from one of our dear member, @STANDY !

And I couldn't be happier, it was a great exexperien. From didiscussing with him about the knife style I wanted, the options for the handle and steel etc...

I got some pictures when he was working on it, and once done, the delivery speedy. And I even got a small gift too... Though, it probably was the only disappointment as I was expecting it to be my grail Seiko, but it wasn't that.

I highly recommend his knives... Mine is so sharp!

PS: it even got lumes for when I chop my veggies in the dark... Though I haven't yet tested that, as I like to keep fingers for s few more years.

Thanks mate. Pleasure to make you what you wanted and glad your happy. (Those post workers must have stole that Seiko. Lucky I have another one here that looks exactly the same 😗)
