Absolutely embarrassing. Throws his watch in chocolate, but then sticks foil to the horns to protect against scratches when the strap is removed.

Do people have nothing more meaningful to do these days, or is it an embarrassing attempt to generate clicks?

Starts at 1:15 ... described as "" one of a kind incident ""
    ...
IMHO inspired by the well-known booklet " Every Rolex Tells a Story "

I don't understand why people deliberately do this to their watches.

I understand watches are suppose to be worn but deliberately throwing it in chocolate is stupid.

Well now we know how to get that perfect chocolate brown tropical dial patina , just pop your watch in the oven at 500 F overnight.

Dumping any watch in melted chocolate is stupid, the chocolate itself won't have an effect on any water resistant watch, but strong cleaning solutions may well attack the seals or discolor the case.
