    Hi,

I have a small wrist, which makes me happy because the Speedy Reduced can be hand for ~$1500 from trusted sellers in Japan.

However, I am very close to purchasing a new $3500 Speedy Pro Moonwatch.

The reduced would actually fit me better, and make my budget happier. But the Reduced negative's are:

    - Not brand new
    - Not under warranty
    - Not "THE moonwatch"
    - No box/presentation value

Has anyone bought the Reduced only to regret it? Seems that would be a natural feeling

Search about servicing module chronographs. Not a cheap thing.

Too expensive to service. Best to save up and get the speedy pro. You can easily pull off a speedy pro with your wrist size.

I just bought the last one and do not regret it. I didn't buy it in place of a moonwatch, I bought it as an addition to my Speedy family.

I bought mine 27 years ago, used. It was a lousy performer from the get go, though I really liked the watch. So, for the first 20 years that I owned it, it mostly sat in my safe, un-used. About 7 years ago, I sent it to Omega Canada, and asked for an estimate. It was under $700.00 at the time, so I told them to do it. I expected my movement would be serviced, but I checked when it was returned, and the movement was replaced. It is now an excellent performer, and very accurate. And finally, I get to wear it. It is a model that (I've been told) had a very short run, and for the European market. It is 18-karat rose gold and steel, with rose gold sub dials on a black dial. These originally came on a cheesy croc grain leather strap. I replaced that with a steel Omega bracelet. There was no rose gold and steel bracelet available.

Do a search, there are lots of threads discussing these. Those that own them seem to like them but there is no getting away from the fact that the compound movement is a compromise and causes issues not found in other models. Some of these issues, including lag when setting the time, pushers out of line, erratic chrono start, hand creep, expensive servicing aren't confined to Omega but apply to modular movement Chronographs from other makers too. They are a nice thing which wear well on a smaller wrist but they made more sense to me back when they were sub £1k.

I agree with the above entirely.

Why limit yourself to Omega? I would look elsewhere and find something in that size bracket to see if it fit me just as well.

Well, I have seen those and I in love of the yellow Schumacher. I did not know that the service of the movement were that expensive. Is the service interval 4 years?

They are very popular, at my store I've sold almost 100 this year, and still a quarter left.

In my experience, the only people who regretted buying were the ones who really actually wanted a Moonwatch.

Its like that guy who bought a Cayman and regretted it. Nothing wrong about the car, but he really wanted a 911 but didn't want to spring for the extra $$$.

That's not a reduced... that's part of the Speedmaster Date family which uses of the shelf eta and valjoux movements and tends to be a lower priced service.

Is the 3220 easier and cheaper to service than the 1140? I haven't seen anything definitive on that.

Have you looked at the First Omega in Space (FOIS)? There was another gentleman in here who went that direction due to it being slightly smaller than the Moonwatch and better on his slim wrists. As for the price on it, I can't comment. I'm a Speedmaster voyeur only.

You're still right you know, but not sure if this is a Schumacher:

If you're looking for a smaller size, consider the FOIS. While not quite as small as the reduced, it may be small enough while giving you all the advantages of the Moonwatch. Those extra millimeters make a difference!
