Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I have posted to the wrong discussion/thread. I came across someone selling this vintage seamaster w/ sub sub second which I was interested to acquire. Described and advertised as a cal 491 movement. After some researching, I found and guessed that it was manufactured around 1956. However, I was looking through the Vintage watches database in Omega's website, but can't seem to find the model which has a similar dial to this. Anyone able to verify its authenticity or if it has been re-dialed? Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the prompt response. You mean this watch has been re-dialed already? If so then indeed its a shame..
The partial washed out dial/redial is a shame, the missing bezel, RG lugs, strange RG crown and mish mash of bridges and wheels makes me think this was conjured up from the spare parts bin. Or the watch cemetery.
Thank you so much for the valuable feedback. I saw another seller, selling a sea master de ville cal 563. Seller says that the face hasn't been redialed, however crown is OEM. Any thoughts on this? Thanks again!
