I have that 5kg beast sitting in the bathroom reading library. If there is something specific you'd like me to look up I'd be happy to do that. You could specify it here or by Private Message on the forum message service.

That's like calling a candy store and asking if they have any chocolate. ;)

If you post your question and the model number, you'll probably get half a dozen replies within a couple of hours :)

Mine is sitting on the family room coffee table. A picture or two and the reference number and you should get an answer.

@Bkirby -- first a caveat: I'm far from being expert on vintage Omega watches, or any vintage watch for that matter.

Now, for what I've gleaned from the 5kg book:

    * The serial number on the movement dates the watch to about 1944.

    * The movement could very well be a 30 T2, which was commonly used by Omega during that era.

If your watch is very thin, however, (I can't tell from your photos), then the movement could be an R 17.8.

I hope you find this information useful. In any case, your watch is spectacular!
