It looks really nice to me. The dial looks good too. I'm not an expert by any means so wait for others to correct or confirm but they have been gaining my attention of late. Price seems premium for this but it is UG after all, they seemingly keep rising rising rising...
She's a beauty. Perfect and right there in a full color page in Sala. As for the price, these 60's Tri are going up up up. You might have some negotiation room because of gold.
extremely rare...Ive only seen a few others in years of searching. Looks all original to me, except possibly the chrono sweep hand...should it be gold? Here is a photo of mine for reference...not nearly as nice and without the original crown as seen on the example you posted.
I will add that as the owner of an SS version that they have a big wrist presence despite being 36mm.
PS: When I was considering mine, I was told that in a few years the only way I would see a watch like this is in pictures. If you like it make an offer.
Nice watch CajunTiger..... What are the pros and cons of a 'Grene Dial' as in this Ref 481101-03 over a 'Glazed Dial' as in a Ref 522100-1 which also occupies a full colour page in Sala and sells for 30%-50% more...?
Not as pricey as this at CHF32,500 with overpolished case, and wrong hour & minute hands, http://www.chrono24.ch/universalgen...onograph-ref-22290-around-1950--id6927191.htm
i'm new to the tri compax collection, but how does a similar piece in steel typically command in price?
[ I'm guessing that "glazed" = laminated with guilloche in the subdials and that "Grene" is not laminated, no guilloche? Any one know?
My thoughts are it's beautiful and I hope someone snags it quickly so I don't have to make up for it to the wifey.
