Any Suggestions for Visiting Tromso?

    Evening all.

Mrs3449 and I are visiting Tromso in Norway in early February. We'll be doing the standard touristy things I expect (I assume there's not a huge vintage watch scene!), such as Northern lights, Husky sledding etc etc.

Have any members been - any recommendations?

    Thanks

I'm no expert photographer, but I have shot the northern lights on a few occasions and I have visited Tromso briefly. My advice would be to invest in a tripod for your camera if you don't already own one. You'll want to use nice long exposures to get the best shots of the aurora. Oh, and try to get out of town - there's too much light pollution close to the city. It might also be worth getting some of those little chemical hand warmers in case you have to stand around waiting for the lights to show up. If you're into architecture, the Arctic Cathedral in Tromso is well worth a visit. Have fun!
