I'm considering purchasing a preowned Longines sourced from Japan but I'm concerned with the potential tariffs.
Anyone with knowledge or preferably with recent experience, please advise.

THANKS... JoeD

IMHO You will have to pay the going Swiss tariffs (assuming that the watch is Swiss manufactured).

The tariff rates have nothing to do with the country from which you purchased the watch, rather the country in which it was manufactured.

Strange but true.

It will help if you confirm which country you’re importing into.

I used to buy quite a few Omegas from Japan to the USA, but the prices have gone crazy.

I bought a swiss made (I think) vintage watch bracelet (Expandro) for 89 euros +26 euros shipping + 7.62 euros tax = 122.62 euros on ebay. UPS said that I owe Trump $19.32 + $14.00 UPS Brokerage + Partner Government Agency Fees. If I didn't pre-pay before UPS delivery I was told I would owe more.

So I am not exactly sure what the tariff cost is with all the fees.

Recently bought a few watches from Japan and imported to the US, they charged me 10% on the cost of the watch
