Tried on an IWC Portugieser Chronograph yesterday at the local AD’s, I have to be honest I really liked the look, classic yet modern, a watch that I could wear in many situations and settings.

I have been (and still am) primarily an Omega and Rolex owner, so if I pick up this watch it will be my first luxury watch outside of my known comfort zone.

I am curious to know how IWC is perceived within the community and how other owners have got on with their watches.

With an 8 year guarantee and being around for 100 years or so IWC are clearly not a newbie to the industry, so just wondered if there is anything I should be aware of before I break open the piggy bank.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Beautifully made watches. As the owner of a 3712-003 that I wore on a weekly basis for around 5 years (sadly now sold), I can say it did not miss a beat in all that time. At a shade under 41mm diameter but with quite a slim profile I felt it sat very well on my wrist. One I definitely miss and will be looking to buy back at some point.

Got the watch back in 2016 as a marriage present. Still love it, great chronograph for a great price!

I have the rattrapante version and it is gorgeous. Classic design in a great size.

Here we are, a year and a half later and today I collected a 3712-002, full set from circa 2005, I couldn't be happier 😎
