Got my first one. It is a "second" generation 166.072 with the different case shape described in Desmonds fine essay http://www.mediafire.com/file/q5zjoyznxgj/Omega Seamaster Memomatic Watch.pdf Anyone but me that likes them and lets see some of yours
Wow, very nice, did not know about this particular model and have never seen one before. Guessing it was created around the same time as the JLC Memovox, the dial looks similar. Beautiful watch in amazing condition, congrats.
Very nice one there TDN. Here's mine. Think it was my first vintage watch. Never used it and probably never will, so it might have to go soon.....
^^^^^^^^^^ Great to see these Memomatics! I picked up this one last summer: On 1171 bracelet... On Omega mesh:
Glad to see that you found another strap! That first one with red stitching did not do the watch good... (I have you under surveillance). I have got some critique for my strap also... A little bulky maybe - a padded Hirsch Monaco and the colour might not be the perfect match either. Memomatics are quite big watches - here together with some other "big blocks"
Thanks! I'm not entirely sure, to be honest! This was how I bought it and I was simply so excited by what I was seeing that I didn't even ask the dealer if it had been restored. I guess it didn't matter to me at the time...After a very careful examination of the case, dial etc, I checked the alarm worked and then had him open it up and that was good enough for me! It came on a non-OEM blue croc strap, but I quickly ditched that for mesh. A recent "Flat Jedi" I picked up came on original 1171with straight 175 end pieces which fit perfectly. So now I switch the Memomatic and Jedi between those two bracelets. Love this watch! (and the Jedi, too!)
These are fantastic watches! I picked this one up a number of years ago along with the original instructions booklet.
Here's mine, I know the tonneau shaped case is probably more wearable but I just love the case profile of the pilot line version. Cheers Ian
Here's mine. The glass is damaged in the mass. I can't polish it. I'm looking for one. PZ5178 But running great
