Lots of uncertainty there now and I think what's scary is that there is no clear way forward. For any forum members there - keep safe. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world...1dd396-e667-11e3-a70e-ea1863229397_story.html

Hublot I'd imagine, seems appropriate for someone who's in government but has no real right to be there.
My friend lives in Pattaya, and he said everything is normal. Probably only certain part of Bangkok is affected. This is certainly calmer than when the two camps fought each other 2 or 3 years ago.
Ain't no revolution. It's a coup. I could see wearing a Richard Mille to the landing pad to wait for the helicopter out of town - that's just that much less cash to carry.
My 20 year old daughter leaves for bangkok tomorrow a.m.. she'll be there 2 months on a Christian mission during her summer break from College. plane arrives after curfew.
Don't worry. i just had a friend come in on the London flight landing at 10pm. She will get in without problems. the curfew is aimed at larger groups of potential trouble makers. a girl in a taxi is not going to have any problems. i wish her a good trip. a coup d'état in Thailand is really a reshuffling of the people in power so a new set of people get to make money. Everyone is supposed to take turns, but every now and then a group won't get off the gravy train and the army has to step in, like a big brother, and push the selfish ones off. All with the blessing of the King. i have lived here 10years and this is my second one.
