I'm looking to broaden my collection, I currently have an 8900 PO in black and an SMPc 2500d also in black.

I want something with a silver or white dial. Have been looking at various Panda dials. Would love a Mitsukoshi Speedmaster, but not sure I can be bothered to mod one, and certainly not able to afford an original with that style dial (even the newer variants such as Apollo/ Tokyo 2020 etc).

I've seen a few of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow 321.10.44.50.02.001 for sale online for very reasonable prices in nice condition. I remember nearly buying one of them years ago, but never quite pulled the trigger (it may have been the black version, I can't quite remember).

What are people's thoughts on them?

Looks kind of busy for my taste.

If you like a white dial and a broad arrow Speedy then i can strongly advice the Moonphase 3575.20.
My uncle has this one and i had a chance to handle it in person, its just one of my favourite Speedmasters. Those blue hands and markers will make you stare at the dial the whole time! :)
    Edit: picture i found online:

Not a fan of the dial on that OP watch (which is a 44mm piece) to be honest, though I do like the SpeedyMoon above.

This one is also a 3313 movement BA but in a more traditional 42mm case size ie it is the same as the Moonwatch sapphire sandwich and wears just like any other Pro:

I know what you guys mean re. the dial being busy, and the offset date window.

I like most of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow range, but I'm specifically looking for a light coloured dial (so white or silver really) with darker sub-dials. I like the sub-dials to have some interest to them. Eg. not just black, but maybe even upraised or set back into the dial slightly.

I know I'm being quite specific!

Also, I'm really not a fan of the "1957" on some of the broad arrows

The 1957 text is on 2 steel models only, the one above and the black dial version of the same (ignoring precious metal versions). Like I say, the big deal for me with the BA watches is size. Most are in 44.25mm cases and I for one don't like how they wear. YMMV of course. Here is a side by side of 44mm and 42mm Co-ax 3313 models I took a few years ago:

It looks way better in the video than in stills it has to be said.

FWIW I like it, and I especially like the raised numerals. It’s is tad on the blingy side though, but not over the line.

Yeah I do wonder whether the size may be an issue. My PO 8900 is the 43.5mm, and the lugs aren't near the edges of my wrist. I believe these BA's have a similar L2L measurement, so it's not as if my wrist can't take it.

However I do find the PO quite large, and haven't decided yet whether I actually want to keep it due in part to the size and thickness .

I don't think I can stretch to one of those new racing speedies, plus I'm not a fan of the markings around the edge of the dial unfortunately. I think if they did a more plain and maybe glossy white dial with those sub-dials I'd probably go for one.

Yeah I like the raised numerals too. I agree, it is blingy... Its one of the things that makes me unsure of the watch, along with the size etc

I have that exact watch, the silver Geneva stripes and raised numerals are quite attractive. I’ve gotten more compliments on it than any of my other watches.
I was recently at a watch making class for Swiss lever escapement adjustments and even the Rolex guys and instructor really liked it. We had it under the video microscope for a while as it is co-axial; we talked about the differences vs the Swiss lever.
Later today I can take a picture of it next to a normal Moonwatch. To me, they don’t feel like they wear much different size wise.

You can find them for around $3000, I think MRSP was $7300 new.

Thanks so much for the little write-up Deafcon! Yeah that would be great if you could post the comparison pic. I think as the video shows, it probably looks a lot better in motion as the light hits it at different angles, not sure pics really convey that well how the watch looks.

There is a black dial version of this watch also. The silver one is better in my opinion, black is for the MoonWatch. A14FA416-E199-4577-A79C-CB51BEC7B74F.jpeg F70BC694-BB86-43FD-9313-1F561A0ADF4E.jpeg 7949360C-5C1C-44A2-8F9B-F250C0617536.jpeg 32EA496C-1C14-4879-B0AB-8816CAE4A2E2.jpeg
