Hi everyone, I've come across this Connie that has the "E" missing from the 'Swiss Made" on the dial making it Swiss Mad! the movement looks to have had water in it too Is it worth trying to restore this? Any comments guys?
Cleaning, The dial script on this model and dial Constellation is very frail, does not cling to the dial well. I have seen letters and parts of words rub off before.
Aaaahhh that makes sense. WOW! I'm sure yours feels much better made. Beautiful! I'm more used to the owner being mad Now to my second question, is this one too far gone to bother trying to restore it? As far as I can tell everything is present and correct on the watch with the exception maybe of the crown.
My watch was not restored - JLC redid the dial at their factory in LeSentier along with a complete restoration service. The dial alone cost $898. Total cost was nearly $2200. Yes, I'm serious. That was not a typo. The second watch I had them do was even more expensive. Yes, I'm crazy.
Money well spent in your case I suspect the cost of trying to make this one respectable would be way more than what it's worth. It's a shame really, thay aren't making them anymore but I think I'll stick to the Condition, Condition Condition mantra and keep looking. Thanks again for your help CS
