Any idea what this mark/streak is on my Speedmaster bracelet?

I picked up this bracelet as a direct order from Omega just before Christmas 2024 (it's the 50th Anniversary Apollo 11 bracelet) and now that I've started using it quite a bit in the summer and wearing it out in bright daylight and the sunshine I noticed this big long dark streak right down the centre of the clasp leading on from the Omega logo.

I'm well out of any sort of 30 day return policy on it at this point but wondered if anyone else has seen anything similar on an Omega they own? I have no idea why the metal looks that way or if it's something that can be removed during a full service/polishing.

Interesting. I've used 3000 grit sanding disc to clean up the brushed part of the clasp on my diver 300. Straight in line, and VERY light pressure. Omega would make it like new again.

Looks like that line is less scratched/worn than the rest of the clasp. Did you possibly have a protective sticker from the factory in that spot for a few months while the surrounding area accumulated wear? I’ve never owned that clasp and am not sure what the protective stickers are like for it…

I don't think I'll attempt risking anything with the sandpaper and will probably just leave it for Omega to sort in a couple of years honestly. It's a beater tool watch for me anyway so I'll just consider it another scratch to go with the others but it's always good to know a full service can get it fully cleared up.

@ Teekashi, No it didn't have any sort of stickers on or such, it just got taken out of the Omega packet and put on my watch and I've been using it like that since.
