    Hi,
    New to the forum.
I came across this little gem while visiting a watch collector friend, I know the hands are wrong but can anyone shed any light on which reference this is? Only have this one pic I’m afraid. Guessing it’s either 2913, 14577 or 165014? 79BB724B-39CC-48A1-BBAE-EB43B185A3FD.jpeg
    Regards

My knowledge of Seamaster 300's is pretty limited. But based on what I know about speedy's, they added a "T" to "Swiss Made" around 64-65, I believe? This was to mark the dial as containing tritium. The absence of the T might indicate pre-64/65 era. From what I've read. the 2913's had either broad arrow hands, or a combination of dauphine/arrow. I haven't found any references with a dauphine minute hand, as this one has, assuming it's original.

Don't take my word for law on that, but since no one else has responded I thought it worth chiming in with my little knowledge.

You should open it. but you can know also seeing outside the caseback. If is rounded then is a 2913. If is flat is a 14755 or a very early 165.014. The 2913 has the 501 caliber that is thick than the 552 caliber of 14755/165.014.

Great I’ll check that out next week. Any idea of what a fair price should be or will that massively depend on which ref?

the price is very high for these references. First, check if the bakelite insert is original and not a reproduction. You need macro lens. If the bezel is not original the value goes down to 40%. they are very fragile and 90% of these broken through the years. you can go on Chrono24 to see some prices!

is this something a novice like myself can assess? Again I guess it’s hard to tell from my picture.

Is it me, or does the font of 'Omega' and 'automatic' scream 'redial' (without looking further)????

Eeerk!!!! I think my friend bought it along with an old trench style Omega about 15-20 years ago from a local dealer. But that’s all I know so far.

From my limited knowledge and it is limited, it all looks good to me except the hands.

More and better quality photos would help. As marks on the crystal could be distorting the dial. Ideally you want to see it out of the case.

The seamasters on chrono have been on sale for months and months. There’s only one decent one on there which is massively over priced for what it is IMO

Fingers crossed all good. Obviously depending on which ref. I’m thinking between £2000-4000, should be safe at that I think

If I think you estimate is a bit low if it’s all genuine but you need that case back off and better photos . If it’s all good then a 165014 you would be looking at £6000+ higher for a
    14755 or 2913
