Hi guys.
I’m a starter on Omega watches and the forum is helping me a lot. Thanks!
Yesterday I found this Omega watch for sale. The seller claims it is original, from de 1940’s. Any idea from you?

It probably is from the 1940s, but it's a re-dialed/overpolished example.

Move on.

Maybe the seller is from the 40's and all original? The watch is not. The re - written dial looks like a pre school project. Ask the seller, if he knows the commercials for Spec Savers....

Handling lots of watches, even bad redials, is the best way to learn. Looking at the quality of the font on the dial tells you this is a redial and there is no way this would have met Omega's factory standards. There is no true ageing or patina on the dial either. You can google images of Omegas from the 1940's to see how they should look and compare.
