Hi...very new to Omega just purchased 70's Seamaster De Ville 14k gold bezel ss back...see photo. My question is has anyone here seen a watch with this type script on the dial (de ville in a different font) seller claims 100% original dial. I don't see anything on the web with that style font. I have an email into Omega but haven't heard back. Any help or comments much appreciated.

    Welcome!

Yes, we've seen it - the De Ville in that font was first added by Noman Morris (Omega's US importer) for the American market if Omega didn't put DEVILLE on the dial themselves.

However, that doesn't assure it isn't a redial. Much closer examination is needed.

The two Seamasters above were made in 1966 and 1973 respectively, and both were redialed later in 1990s/2000s with a refinished dial in the same pattern. The scripted lower 2 lines are not only poorly center aligned, but also crooked. Note that both De Ville came with lume on both the hands and dial, however T marks are missing since "T Swiss Made T" should be displayed as an original dial.

Always take seller's 100% originals claim with a grain of salt, they lie all the time even unintentionally, especially with vintage Omegas.

I think the dial is 100% genuine. Good spacing on the minute track, crisp letters, sharp swiss made and good small and well placed lume plots. The serial number (which I make out to be in the 43 millions) indicates that the watch was produced very late in the 70’ies and you can’t compare that to the SMDV models from the 60’ies which usually come up when searching seamaster de ville on google. The font style can be found on several other late 70’ies de villes. Also, watches wirh lume will not always have t swiss made t printed. Plenty examples of that. Take a look here for a watch similar to yours: https://omegaforums.net/threads/information-on-a-seamaster-de-ville-please.81827/
